International Competition | This Film Festival is held by IFF Australia, Melbourne on February 2016. The annual Short Film Competition for Indonesian Film Festival 2016 is back and open for your masterpieces! The Indonesia Film Festival 2016 is open world wide with no restriction of originating country. Two short films will be selected to be present as : “Indonesian Film Festival Best Short Film” and “Most Favorite Film”.This year, IFF Short Film Competition brings special theme: "UNLABELED" that arise from social issue in Indonesia and the world. With the presence of diversity in the world, label becomes very important in the society. Then we wonder what happened if showcased in one of our series of events. We start to not labeled things including ourselves?

IFF's annual Short Film Competition is Back!!

Interested in expressing your ideas through a movie? Have a secret aspiration to be on screen or simply be the man behind the scene? Fret not! The annual Short Film Competition for Indonesian Film Festival 2016 is open for your masterpieces!!

The theme for this year competition is 'Unlabeled', where we want you to make a short film that challenge different stereotypes that exist in the society!

AWARDS:

  • 1st winner : AUD 1,000 + certificate
  • 2nd winner : AUD 500 + certificate
  • Most Favourite Short Film: Prizes to be announced + certificate

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The 7th Short Film Competition is open to filmmakers of any cultural background from throughout the world. To be qualify for competition, film that submitted must meets at least one of the following requirements:

  • the theme, story, or topic of the film incorporates Indonesia;
  • a member of the main production staff (Director, Producer, or Actor) are Indonesian;
  • the film incorporates Indonesian language or culture;

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

  • THEME: Films must in accordance with this year short film competition’s theme – “unlabeled”
  • YEAR: Films completed between 2013 and 2015 are eligible for the competition.
  • LENGTH: Films must be 20 minutes long (including titles and credits) to be eligible for the
  • LANGUAGE: Films containing Indonesian dialogue or narration and must have English subtitles in order to be 
eligible for the competition.
  • GENRE: All film genres are eligible for the competition.
  • OFFENSIVE MATERIAL: It is strongly advised that your film does not include drug use, tobacco, or nudity. IFF Inc. 
reserves the right to exclude any entry which it considers inappropriate. This may include films which, in the opinion of IFF Inc., contain racist, sexist, violent, or discriminatory material, or material otherwise likely to offend community standards.
  • SPECIFICATIONS: Films with any specifications will be eligible for the competition. However, we recommend the following film specifications:
    • Video Format: H.264, MPEG-4 preferred.
    • Aspect Ratio:16:9 (letter boxed if necessary)
    • Resolution: 1920×1080 preferred
    • Audio Format: MP3 or AAC preferred

Film registration will closed on the 20th February 2016, 11:59 PM
