AESAP Student Design Competition 2017 Institut Pertanian Bogor

DEADLINE: October 7th, 2017

Following the success of the 1st AESAP Student Design Competition on 2016, Department of Mechanical and Biosystem Engineering of Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesian Society of Agricultural Engineering (ISAE) of Bogor Chapter, and Association of Agricultural Engineering Students of Bogor Agricultural University proudly announce the 2nd AESAP Students Design Competitions 2017.

The AESAP Student Design Competition is a forum for agricultural engineering (AE) undergraduate students to expose their design in agricultural engineering, exchange ideas, and sharpen their communication skills. The AESAP Student Design Competition has the following goals:

  • To give AE undergraduate students the opportunity to share their designs in international forum.
  • To provide detailed feedback to AE undergraduate students about their design and presentation, from a panel of distinguished judges from industry and academia.
  • To recognize and reward outstanding student on design in agricultural engineering field.

The scope of the competition is the innovative design in the agricultural engineering field, i.e :

  • Postharvest and food engineering : agricultural and food process engineering, postharvest engineering, modeling and simulation.
  • Energy and agricultural machinery : bioconversion engineering, renewable energy development, rural electricity and energy sources, life-cycle assessment, energy audit.
  • Land and water resources engineering : management, irrigation engineering and management, soil properties engineering, watershed management, water and soil conservation engineering.
  • Agricultural structures and environmental engineering: microclimate engineering, environment control design, construction and analysis of agricultural structures. System and management : Agricultural information System, expert system, decision support system in agriculture, monitoring and control.

PARTICIPANTS

The competition is open to all agricultural engineering undergraduate students (individual or teams) in Asia. This section also should describe the relevant background necessary to appreciate the work. Include references to the literature where appropriate, and briefly explain where your work departs from that done by others. Reference lists do not count towards the limit on the length of the paper.
  • Approach and Uniqueness: this section should describe your approach in solving the problem and should clearly state how your approach is novel.
  • Results and Contributions: this section should clearly show contribution of your design to agricultural engineering and technology, and also for society.

The first round of the competition evaluates the paper based on quality and the significant of the design. Six (6) designs, which are selected by the judges to proceed in the second round as the finalists, will be invited to present their design in The 2nd AESAP Conference.
